About
Jargon is a new, modern-jazz quartet focused on adventurous original composition. Nods to Kurt Rosenwinkel, Avishai Cohen, Chris Potter, and Bill Frisell are evident in their compositions as well as in their collective improvisation. From the first meeting of Bryan Smith (saxophone), Gregg Belisle-Chi (guitar), Carmen Rothwell (bass), and Max Wood (drums), it was quickly decided that a committed band was the way to go. A common interest in current happenings in the music world as well as a love of rhythmic exploration and open ears to all genres keep their performances vibrant & exciting.
Christian Pincock is a trombonist and composer who's energetic and lyrical music pushes jazz conventions. Saxophonist Dave Liebman has said that Christian's first CD, “Reflections of the City” had “A lot of fire and energy” and Chris Rosenberg called him “…a real storyteller.”
Joining Christian on this performance will be Aaron Otheim (piano), Luke Bergman (bass) and Chris Icasiano (drums).
